Most of the top seeds in Divisions-One-and-Two have first-round byes, but only a couple number-ones in Divisions-Three-and-Four have the night off. There are 27 byes in all.
The only defending champions to get number-one seeds this time are Wisconsin Lutheran in Division-Two and Racine Saint Catherine’s in Division-Three. Division-One champ Madison Memorial is seeded second this year – and D-Four titlist Wisconsin Rapids Assumption is a five-seed.
The state tournament is set for March 18th-20th in Madison.
Meanwhile, the final AP boys’ poll came out yesterday. De Pere is the new leader in Division-One, after the team it replaced – Racine Park – forfeited 10 victories for using players who violated truancy rules. Antigo is second in the final poll, and Madison Memorial third. Waukesha Catholic Memorial still leads Division-Two, followed by Wisconsin Lutheran and New Berlin Eisenhower. Marathon moved into the top spot in Division-Three, after previous leader Cuba City lost and dropped to second. And Randolph tops Division-Four, followed by Sheboygan Christian and Green Lake.
