MADISON - The Wisconsin men’s basketball team pounded Iowa 67-to-40 last night in Madison. The 15th-ranked Badgers had an 18-0 run midway through the first half and rolled from there to win their home season finale.
Jon Leuer led Wisconsin with 18 points, as he continues his comeback from a broken wrist suffered in early January. Seniors Trevon Hughes and Jason Bohannon each had double-digit performances in their final game at the Kohl Center. Hughes scored 15. Bohannon had 11 points and a career-high nine rebounds. Iowa’s 40 points were a season-low for a Wisconsin opponent.
Aaron Fuller scored 14, as the Hawkeyes suffered their eighth defeat in their last 10 games. Iowa fell to 4-13 in the Big Ten and 10-20 overall.
The Badgers are now 12-5 in the conference, a half-game behind third-place Michigan State. Wisconsin is also 22-7 overall, and will close out the regular season on Sunday at Illinois.
