Plum City High School boys' basketball team is in its first regional final since 2006 as they edged Eleva-Strum at Central 50-47 Thursday night. Prescott, however, was eliminated in its regional final.
The Blue Devils (8-14), the No. 7 seed in the WIAA Division 4 Arcadia Regional tournament, faces the No. 1 seed, Chippewa Falls McDonell (15-8) at 7 p.m. Saturday in Arcadia.
Prescott's long trip to Webster for the Division 3 Amery Regional semifinals was not a good one as the Tigers (18-6) the No. 3 seed, won easily 59-41.
It means the Cardinals have been dethroned as regional champs and finished their season at the .500 mark, 12-12 overall. Webster faces No. 13 ranked and top seed St. Croix Central in the regional final Saturday at Amery.
The Blue Devils won their third game in a row, outscoring the No. 3 seeded Cardinals (9-15) by six in the fourth quarter. PC's Chase Luebker scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Both Alex Gilles and Tyler Churchill scored 10.
