INDIANAPOLIS - The Wisconsin women's basketball team plays powerful Ohio State in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament today.

The Badgers earned that spot by swamping Purdue Friday 73-51. Alyssa Karel hit 5-of-7 floor shots, scoring 14 points to lead Wisconsin to the rout. It was the first-time ever Wisconsin beat Purdue in the tournament and the earliest Purdue has ever lost in the tourney.

The Badgers bring a 21-9 record into today's game against the Buckeyes. Ohio State beat Wisconsin twice this season and is seeded number-one in the conference tournament.

Wisconsin has never gotten past the semifinal round in the Big Ten Tournament since it began back in 1995.
