FY. MEYERS, Fla. - Twins close Joe Nathan is back in Minneapolis to have his sore right elbow examined. Nathan left Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Boston Red Sox with soreness in his right elbow.

Nathan had bone chips removed from his elbow in the off-season and retired just one batter while walking two others in his first appearance of the spring. He says there's plenty of time to figure out what's wrong and get ready for the opening of the regular season. Nathan also says it's not unusual to have soreness after surgery.

Nathan is entering his seventh season with the Twins. He has 246 career saves and an earned run average of one-point-eight seven. The last time he was on the disabled list was the year 2000, when he was playing for San Francisco.
