PRESCOTT—The fifth annual Taste of Freedom fundraiser will be from 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center in Prescott.
The event is put on by the Friends of Freedom Park as a fundraiser for the center. Visitors will be able to sample foods from Prescott and area restaurants, along with a selection of fine wines and other beverages, and a chocolate fountain for dessert.
A silent auction will also be held organizer Kris Sampson says will be more on experiences, such as fishing expeditions, winery tours, and tickets to the Minnesota Wild, Timberwolves and the Guthrie Theatre.
Sampson also said two national park superintendents will attend to discuss long-range plans of creating walking/hiking trails along the St. Croix River with the hopes of merging those with Minnesota’s trails as well.
Cost is $35 per person and the event is for adults only. Sampson said reservations are requested and can be made by contacting the center at (715) 262-0104.
