GREEN BAY - UW-Green Bay pounded UW-Milwaukee 72-48 at home last night in the quarter-finals of the Horizon League women’s tournament.

The top-seeded Phoenix committed 13 turnovers in the first half, as ninth-seeded UWM came out in a stifling zone defense. Still, Green Bay led for much of the half – and it ended the game on a 26-9 run in which the Panthers failed to make a field goal in the final five-minutes and 40-seconds.

Kayla Tetschlag had 16 points and nine rebounds for UWGB. Celeste Hoewisch and Sarah Eichler scored 15 apiece, as the Phoenix improved to 27-and-3 overall. Senior Jodie McClain led Milwaukee with 10 points, five assists, and five steals. She finished the year with 150 assists, only the second Panther ever to reach that number.

The Panthers ended their season at 12-19. Green Bay will move on to play fourth-seeded Cleveland State in the semi-finals tomorrow night. Cleveland eliminated Illinois-Chicago last night 78-72.
