Wisconsin Sports
- The Wisconsin Badgers were solid down the stretch, holding off upset-minded Wofford 53-49 in the first round of the championship tournament.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - At the end of the game, the team with significant NCAA Tournament experience played like it. The Wisconsin Badgers were solid down the stretch, holding off upset-minded Wofford 53-49 in the first round of the championship tournament.

Jon Leuer and Trevon Hughes accounted for 39 of Wisconsin's 53 points. Leuer's 20-point game included a jumper from the baseline with 17 seconds left that put the fourth-seeded Badgers up to stay. He added two free throws a few seconds later.

Wisconsin takes its 26-9 record into the second round of the East Regional in Jacksonville against 12th seed Cornell, which upset Temple yesterday.

Wofford had a one-point lead with less than two minutes to go, but the Terriers turned the ball over twice and missed two important free throws.
