Twins beat Rays 6-2 as Navarro hurts knee in collision with Jones

Minnesota Sports
- The Twins beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 6-2 in Grapefruit League play but the big story was the injury to Rays' catcher Dioner Navarro which could put him out of action until May.

Port Charlotte, FL (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay Rays catcher Dioner Navarro suffered a nerve contusion on his left knee during Saturday's spring training contest with the Minnesota Twins.

Twins outfielder Jacque Jones collided with the catcher after trying to score from second base on a single. Jones was called out as Navarro hung onto the ball.

The catcher then fell to the ground clutching his left leg as medical assistance quickly came to the scene. Charlotte Sports Park personnel loaded the catcher onto the cart and drove him off the field for x-rays, where the injury was determined.

Minnesota's Francisco Liriano struck out four over three innings without walking a batter or allowing a run. Also on the mound, the Twins Anthony Slama struck out two batters. Both Ben Revere and Alexi Casilla had two hits, a double and combined for three RBIs at the plate.
