The arts in Wisconsin are getting a small boost from the federal economic stimulus package.

The National Endowment for the Arts has given the state $318,000 to help established arts groups preserve jobs.

The funding will be allocated by a one-time grant program called Wisconsin Arts Jobs.

George Tzougros, head of the state arts board, says the purpose is to help arts organizations survive the recession.

Groups receiving state arts grants in the last four years can apply for funds ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.
