MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks ended their longest home winning streak in six years last night, as they lost to the struggling Philadelphia 76’ers at the Bradley Center 101-to-86. It snapped an eight-game home winning streak, and it was just Milwaukee’s third loss in its last 18 contests.
The Sixers were up by 13 points at the half, and 18 after three quarters. The strong Milwaukee defense of recent games suffered a major lapse, as Philly shot 53-percent in winning for only the third time in its last 16 outings. Six Philadelphia players scored in double figures, led by Willie Green with 16 points off the bench. Rookie Jodie Meeks, whom the Bucks traded last month, had seven points for Philly in 21 minutes.
Jerry Stackhouse led the Bucks with 15 off the bench. Milwaukee made just 5-of-28 from three-point range. John Salmons, who had scored 85 points in his last three games, had just four as he broke a string of 17 straight contests in double figures.
The Bucks also had their lead for the fifth Eastern Conference playoff spot cut to two-and-a-half games over sixth-place Charlotte. But eighth-place Toronto also lost, which means the Bucks still reduced their magic number to six for making its first post-season in four years. They’re 39-and-31, and will host Miami tomorrow night.
