JUPITER, Fla. - Kevin Slowey gave up three runs on seven hits in his final Grapefruit League start in Florida, and the Twins lost to the Saint Louis Cardinals 5-3.
Two of the runs scored on solo homers by Ryan Ludwick and Albert Pujols, but Slowey says it was still a productive outing. The righthander had given up just one run all spring prior to yesterday's outing.
The Twins host the Pirates today in Fort Myers with Francisco Liriano making his final start of the spring. They will return to the Twin Cities this weekend to play exhibition games at the new Target Field. The Twins open the regular season on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim.
