MILWAUKEE - Bucks rookie point guard Brandon Jennings sets a record by winning the Eastern Conference rookie of the month award for a fourth time in March. That's four out of five months Jennings has won the award.
Jennings helped the Bucks run up an 11-4 record in March, averaging 14 points, five assists, three rebounds and 1.3 steals per outing. Jennings had four games of 20 points or more, including 35 in a double overtime victory at Sacramento March 19. He hit eight three-pointers in that win to set a Bucks rookie record.
The Bucks can take a big step on the road toward securing a playoff spot tonight. They'll meet the Charlotte Bobcats, who are not far behind them in the standings. Milwaukee is clinging to the last playoff position, with a 41-33 record. Miami is a half-game back, at 41-34. And Charlotte is two games behind, at 39-35. A win by the Bucks tonight would give them a little cushion over the Bobcats. The Bucks have gone 2-1 against Charlotte so far this year.
