MILWAUKEE - Brewers bats pushed three runs across the plate in the second inning in Friday's 3-2 win over Detroit. Doug Davis started and got the win in the second-to-last exhibition game before the regular season.

Designated hitter Jody Gerut pounded a two-run single during the rally. Despite the fact the game was played in a National League park, Brewers manager Ken Macha agreed to use the DH. He wanted to get more at bats for Gerut in case Jim Edmonds' hamstring injury doesn't improve.

Corey Hart drove in Milwaukee's other run, going 2-for-3 as he tries to hang on to his starting spot in right field.
