MINNEAPOLIS (The Sports Network)- Joe Mauer and Michael Cuddyer homered to help the Twins over the Cardinals 8-3, in an exhibition contest from Target Field.
Starter Kevin Slowey allowed just two runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings for the Twins, who open up the regular season on Monday against the Angels in Anaheim.
David Freese went deep for the Cardinals, who start the season in Cincinnati also on Monday. Hurler Jaime Garcia surrendered four runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 frames for the loss.
