MADISON - Wisconsin center Peter Konz says he’ll be ready for summer work-outs in June, after he had blood clots in his lungs last fall.
Konz, a redshirt freshman from Neenah, started nine games at center in 2009 – and he missed the Badgers’ final two contests once the blood clots were discovered. He was put on blood-thinning medication and told not to take part in contact drills for at least six months. Konz said recent tests showed no further clotting, and he’s on track to return.
Meanwhile, Badgers’ center John Moffitt returned to spring practice yesterday for the first time since suffering a hernia last fall. He hopes to be fully ready for Wisconsin’s spring game on April 17th. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
