Badgers play Rochester Technology in Frozen Four today
Wisconsin Sports-- The Wisconsin men’s hockey team will play Rochester Tech late this afternoon as the NCAA Frozen Four opens in Detroit.
DETROIT - The Wisconsin men’s hockey team will play Rochester Tech late this afternoon at the NCAA Frozen Four opens in Detroit.
The Badgers come in at 27-10-4, and they’ve won eight-of-their-last-10 games. Rochester Tech made the national semi-finals in just their fifth year in Division-One. They’re 28-11-1, with a 12-game winning streak. RIT leads the country in scoring margin with 1.55. The Badgers lead the nation in total goals scored, with 163.
Today’s winner will play either Boston College or Miami-of-Ohio for the national championship on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Wisconsin men’s hockey forward Blake Geoffrion has been named the national player-of-the-year by Inside College Hockey. The honor was announced yesterday. Geoffrion leads the WCHA with 27 goals, and he’s second in the nation in that department. He’s also one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the nation’s top college player.
