Brewers blanked by Nationals 8-0

- Milwaukee didn't blow a lead Saturday against the Washington Nationals this time because they never had a chance, losing 8-0.

WASHINGTON D.C. - He doesn't throw very hard, but Livan Hernandez was hitting his spots Saturday.

The veteran right-hander threw his first shutout in nearly six years -- blanking the Milwaukee Brewers 8-0.

Hernandez is 35 years old and his battery-mate Ivan Rodriguez is 38. Hernandez has pitched 15 shutout innings in his last two starts and has a record of 2-0. Justin Maxwell and Rodriguez both drove in three runs. Randy Wolf took the loss for Milwaukee.

The victory was the third in a row for the Nationals. The Brewer record falls to 4-7.
