EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is staying with the Vikings after signing a restricted free agent tender that'll earn him one-point-one-seven-six million dollars.
Jackson last season was backup to Brett Favre, managing to throw for 201 yards and one touchdown. He has 21 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions in 33 career games for the Vikings. Jackson was a second-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, and has started off and on during his NFL career.
The only Vikings restricted free agent not to sign a tender is defensive end Ray Edwards. A number of Vikings players are at Winter Park in Eden Prairie for off-season conditioning, and the front office is preparing for Thursday's opening of the NFL Draft. The Vikings have the 30th overall choice in the first round.
