MINNEAPOLIS - Oto Osenieks is officially part of Tubby Smith's new recruiting class for the University of Minnesota men's basketball team. The six-nine, 215-pound forward signed his letter of intent yesterday, according to his high school coach.

Osenieks is originally from Latvia, and played last season for Brehm Prep School in Carbondale, Illinois. Last week, 6-10 center Maurice Walker signed his letter-of-intent to join the Gophers.

Still uncommitted is Gopher recruit Cory Joseph, who's considered among the top point guards coming out of high school. Joseph is friends with Walker, and is the brother of Gopher guard Devoe Joseph. With Osenieks committing today, the Gophers have two scholarships left for the upcoming men's basketball season.
