BALDWIN - Ellsworth High School's softball team upended Baldwin-Woodville 10-5 Thursday, a win that put them a game out of first place in the Middle Border Conference.
EHS struck early and hard with five runs in the first inning and four more in the sixth. They had 12 hits in the game.
Winning pitcher Halle Hatch was 4-for-4 at the plate and tossed s six-hitter. Ellsworth had just one error.
Ellsworth's win set's up Hwy. 10 rival Prescott. The Cardinals are 3-1 in MBC play and can tie B-W for the lead if they beat Osceola Friday. Ellsworth is 4-2 in the MBC, 4-6 overall.
