PC snaps losing streak, beats Mondovi 11-9

MONDOVI - A struggling Plum City High School baseball team still clung to first place in the Dunn-St. Croix Small as they edged Mondovi Thursday 11-9. Losses by Spring Valley and Pepin also aided their cause.
The Lakers fell 9-2 to Elk Mound while Spring Valley lost 8-7 to St. Croix Central. PC is 3-2 in the league while SV and Pepin are both 2-3.
The Blue Devils were down seven after three innings on the road Thursday, but ripped off eight runs in the sixth. 17 walks aided in that effort too.
By contrast winning pitcher Chase Luebker pitched all seven innings for Plum City. He struck out 14 while walking two. He had two hits, two runs and two RBI. Teammate Shawn Ingli went 1-for-3 with a run-scoring triple.
