MILWAUKEE - Police shot-and-killed a 47-year-old man last night, as he was allegedly threatening a woman with a knife.

Police Chief Ed Flynn said officers responded after getting a complaint that the man violated a restraining order by seeing the woman. Flynn said two officers confronted the man – and they shot him after he did not follow their orders to drop his knife.

One of the officers was a 31-year-old woman who’s been on the Milwaukee Police force for seven years. The other was a 28-year-old man with one year in the department. Both officers will handle administrative duties while police and the district attorney’s office investigate. The suspect died at the scene. The incident happened around 6:30 last night on Milwaukee’s south side, on the same street where police shot-and-killed another man last month.
