SAN DIEGO - Closer Tevor Hoffman has had hundreds of saves in San Diego, but he was always wearing a Padres uniform. Saturday night Hoffman broke a personal slump in the Brewers' 2-1 victory.

Milwaukee's offense came on two swings of the bat -- home runs by starting and winning pitcher Yovani Gallardo and second baseman Rickie Weeks. Hoffman earned the 595th save of his storied career by striking out one batter, then getting two easy fly balls. Gallardo's home run off Padre starter Mat Latos ended a scoreless streak of 26 straight innings for San Diego pitchers.

In winning his third game, Gallardo struck out 10 batters for the second time in three starts.
