EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Former Southwest Minnesota State offensive lineman Bill Noethlich is going to stay with the Vikings for a while.

The six-seven, 301-pound Noethlich was among the players invited to try out for the Vikings during the past weekend at rookie camp, and he agreed to a free-agent contract yesterday.

He was an all-Northern Sun Conference selection the past three seasons and played in the Division Two Cactus Bowl all-star game. At one time, Noethlich started 40 consecutive games for the Mustangs. The next step for Noethlich is an appearance at the Vikings' first round of Organized Team Activities two weeks from today.

The Vikings also signed undrafted free agent Marquis Hamilton, who was a wide receiver at Iowa State.
