Ellsworth nine roll over Durand 13-4
The Ellsworth High School baseball team, ranked No. 9 in the state in Division 2, kept pace with New Richmond atop the Middle Border standings after pounding Durand Tuesday 13-4.
DURAND - The Ellsworth High School baseball team, ranked No. 9 in the state in Division 2, kept pace with New Richmond atop the Middle Border standings after pounding Durand Tuesday 13-4.
EHS scored four runs in the top of the first inning and had a three-run third. Seven errors by Durand aided their cause.
Ellsworth's Tyler Regnier went 4-for-5 and scored two runs from the lead-off spot. Tanner Eggenberger went 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.
Regnier also was the winning pitcher. He threw four innings, gave up just one hit and struck out seven.
EHS and New Richmond are tied for first in the league with Somerset a game back of both. Ellsworth hosts Amery Friday with the first pitch at 5 p.m. at the Brown Baseball Fields in Hager City.
