HAGER CITY - No. 9 ranked Ellsworth had just three hits but they were enough for the Panthers to edge Amery 3-2 in eight innings in MBC play Monday.
Brady Schroeder had the winning hit that plated the winning run.
Darren Georgakas was the winning pitcher. He allowed six hits, struck out four and walked three.
EHS stranded eight base runners for the ballgame but in the first Caleb Dressen's double scored two runs to give the Panthers and early advantage.
New Richmond also won Monday so the two teams remain tied in the league standings. The big games are coming up for Ellsworth, Tuesday at Somerset, Friday at home vs. Baldwin-Woodville then next Monday at home vs. Tigers.
