Huge win for Devils as they edge Pepin 1-0 in 10 innings

Plum City has won three Dunn-St. Croix Small Division titles in a row because they've always won the big games when they needed to. That was true again Thursday as the Blue Devils edged their rivals Pepin in 10 innings.

PEPIN - Plum City has won three Dunn-St. Croix Small Division titles in a row because they've always won the big games when they needed to. That was true again Thursday as the Blue Devils edged their rivals Pepin in 10 innings.

The win was the second in a row for PC and the second without three senior starters.

The Blue Devils plated a run in the top half of the 10th inning without a hit. Pepin made two errors, walked a batter and hit another in the inning.

Winning pitcher Chase Luebker pitched a complete game four-hitter with eight strikeouts. Kris Krueger led PC in hits with two.

The win puts Plum City one over the .500 mark in the league standings at 6-5 with two games left to play. Both Spring Valley and Elmwood were rained out Thursday.
