Panthers rip Baldwin-Woodville 13-2, set up for showdown with New Richmond

BALDWIN - The No. 9 ranked Ellsworth High School's baseball team had no problems beating Baldwin-Woodville Friday 13-2. Now the stage is set for Monday's showdown with New Richmond that could decide the Middle Border Conference title.
The Panther scored one run in the first, then had five runs in the second and added seven runs in the third.
Ellsworth had 12 hits and no errors. Caleb Dressen went 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs while Jake Betthauser knocked in three runs. Tyler Regnier, a senior, had two hits and four steals.
Sophomore Travis Kroll earned the win in the first varsity start of his career. He pitched four innings, struck out four and gave up one earned run.
Ellsworth hosts New Richmond Monday at 5 p.m. at the Brown Sports Fields in Hager City. New Richmond is a game back of the Panthers in the MBC standings as they lost to Somerset Friday 3-2.
