T-Wolves again have bad luck with NBA lottery

The Timberwolves' bad luck at the NBA Draft Lottery reared its head again when they fell to the number four overall pick in next month's selection of the top amateur basketball players.

The Wolves had the second-worst record during the regular season and a 19-point-nine percent chance to gain the top overall selection. But Washington and Philadelphia's numbers came up to pass both the Wolves and the New Jersey Nets, who had the league's worst record. The Wolves right now have three first-round picks in the Draft, which takes place June 24th. They also have picks numbers 16 and 23, but that could all change.

Timberwolves basketball operations president David Kahn says there's no reason to be sad about the team dropping to the number four overall. Kahn says it appears Washington will use the number one pick to take guard John Wall of Kentucky, but notes that anything can happen after that. Kahn also says the Wolves may use current players or some of their picks as trade bait to move up or down in next month's draft. The Wolves right now have the fourth, 16th and 23rd selections, and Kahn says he'd be surprised if that didn't change.
