BOSTON - The Twins are in Boston to begin a two-game series that'll wrap up a three-city, seven-game road trip. They're already two-and-three on the east coast swing after getting pummeled by Toronto 11-2 yesterday afternoon at Rogers Center.

The Blue Jays added to their major league-leading home run total with four long balls off Twins starter Carl Pavano, while Toronto starter Shaun Marcum allowed just five hits in seven innings to pick up his third win in four decisions.

The Twins remain two games up on second-place Detroit in the AL Central after the Tigers lost to the White Sox 6-2. The Tigers start a west-coast road trip tonight with a series opener at Oakland.

The Twins recalled Pitcher Jeff Manship from Class Triple-A Rochester yesterday, and sent infielder Matt Tolbert back to the minor leagues. This is the second appearance in the big leagues for Manship this season. He started against Cleveland on May 1st and did not figure in the decision. The Twins are short on pitchers after the bullpen was used extensively during their two-game series at Toronto. Tolbert played in three games with the Twins, getting a single in four at-bats. Shortstop J.J. Hardy is expected to come off the disabled list as soon as Friday, and when he is activated, the Twins will likely make room on the roster by sending down a pitcher.
