EHS softball closes conference play with win over NR

Ellsworth high school's softball team won a make-up game Friday 4-2 over New Richmond at home.
The Panthers came from behind to win. Trailing 2-0 after two innings, EHS scored one in the fourth and three in the sixth.
Ellsworth freshmen Stacie Peterson and Mackenzie Diercks both finished 2-for-3 at the plate with each scoring a run. Peterson scored the winning run and Diercks added an insurance run.
Panther pitcher Halle Hatch struck out four and allowed five hits in the win.
Ellsworth finished its regular season schedule losing both games at the Bloomer Tournament Saturday. They are off until June 1 when they play in the regional semifinals.
