Blues win own Memorial Weekend Tournament

PLUM CITY - For the first time in the 20-year history of the Plum City Blues' Memorial Weekend Tournament, the host team won the championship.
The Blues defeated Menomonie 7-3 on Memorial Day in the championship game.
PC defeated Elmwood in its first game on Saturday 8-2 then downed Hudson 2-0 in the semifinals on Sunday.
Taking third place in the tourney was Prescott, a 6-5 winner over Hudson. The Pirates won their first game 18-6 over Bay City before losing to Menomonie 5-4 in the semis. Menomonie beat Ellsworth 5-1 in its first round game while Hudson topped River Falls 14-0.
River Falls finished fifth in the tournament, defeating Bay City 12-10. The Bombers downed Ellsworth 5-4 in the consolation round while River Falls defeated Elmwood 12-2.
St. Croix Valley League play resumes this weekend.
