Gophers fall to Cal-State Fullerton, elimination game tonight
Minnesota Sports- Cal-State Fullerton defeated Minnesota 7-2 Sunday evening to stay alive in the NCAA regionals and force tonight's final game between the two clubs.
FULLERTON, Calf. - Cal-State Fullerton defeated Minnesota 7-2 Sunday evening to stay alive in the NCAA regionals and force tonight's final game between the two clubs at 10 p.m. (CST).
Both teams meet again tonight with the winner going on to the super regionals to face UCLA in a best-of-three series in Los Angeles while loser's season is ended.
The Titans defeated New Mexico 11-3 earlier in the day to eliminate the Lobos. They stayed hot against the Golden Gophers, building a 7-0 lead.
Minnesota was led by A.J. Pettersen and Kyle Knuston, both with two hits. Pettersen drove in a run. Matt Puhl hit a double and Michael Kvasnicka hit a solo home run for the U.
