Arrowhead, Edgewood and Arcadia win state golf titles
Wisconsin Sports- Hartland Arrowhead has become the first school to win four straight boys’ state high school golf titles. Arrowhead took the Division-One crown yesterday with a three-stroke victory over Milwaukee Marquette.
MADISON - Hartland Arrowhead has become the first school to win four straight boys’ state high school golf titles. Arrowhead took the Division-One crown yesterday with a three-stroke victory over Milwaukee Marquette.
Arrowhead had 618 strokes to 621 for Marquette and 622 for Middleton – which led halfway through the 36-hole tournament. Yesterday’s final round was played in a driving rain with strong winds. Mike Schilling of Middleton won the individual crown by one stroke over Robbie Jacobsen of Racine Horlick.
In Division-Two, Madison Edgewood won its second straight title by three strokes over Appleton Xavier. Charlie Danielson of Osceola won the individual crown by six strokes over Josh Udelhofen of Platteville.
Arcadia won the Division-Three championship by four strokes over Fond du Lac Springs. Nate Strigenz of Springs was the medalist by four strokes over Mitch Sobotta of Arcadia.
