State baseball tournament begins today

- At least two new state champions will be crowned at the WIAA high school baseball tournament that begins today at Fox Cities’ Stadium near Appleton.

GRAND CHUTE - At least two new state champions will be crowned at the WIAA high school baseball tournament that begins today at Fox Cities’ Stadium near Appleton.

Bay Port is will defend the Division-One title it won a year ago. And Madison Edgewood is back to defend its Division-Two crown.

The action begins this morning with the Division-One quarter-finals. Bay Port will open against Merrill, and then Waunakee will take on Kimberly. This afternoon, Hartford plays Waterford, and Fort Atkinson goes against Madison La Follette. The Division-One semi-finals will be played tonight. Semi-finals in Divisions Two, Three, and Four are set for tomorrow. Title games in all four divisions are scheduled for Thursday.
