MINNEAPOLIS - Scott Baker struck out a career high 12 batters and the Twins got production from the bottom of the order again in last night's tight 2-1 win over Colorado at Target Field.

Baker was on his game against the free-swinging Rockies, allowing just two hits in seven scoreless innings while walking just one to push his record to six-and-five. Danny Valencia and Nick Punto each had a run-scoring hit in the second inning, and Baker and three relief pitchers made it stand up.

Colorado's only run scored in the eighth inning on a passed ball, but Jose Mijares was able to retire the last two batters to get out of the jam. Jon Rauch pitched a perfect ninth for his American League-best 17th save. The

Twins have won two straight and are back to 11 games over .500, keeping them two-and-a games ahead of second-place Detroit in the AL Central.
