DENVER - For most of the season the Milwaukee Brewers have scored a lot of runs, but haven't received the pitching they needed. That was reversed Friday in Denver.

Jason Hammel blanked the Brewers for more than seven innings as the Rockies won a shutout, 2-0.

Hammel has pitched 25 and a third consecutive scoreless innings and he picked up his fifth win. Manny Parra's good work was wasted as the Brewers fell 11 games below .500.

The best chance for Milwaukee came in the first inning when they loaded the bases with one out, but Casey McGehee fouled out and Jonathan Lucroy flied to right.
