Spring Valley resident's stick-to-itiveness leads to contest winner

Elizabeth Lee ended up parlaying her creative ways into the 3M Tape Sculpture contest’s top prize of $5,000 and a year’s supply of tape.

SPRING VALLEY—Design has been a big part of Elizabeth Lee’s life, so when the 2007 Spring Valley High School graduate learned early this year about 3M’s first Tape Sculpture Contest, entering it came naturally.

Lee ended up parlaying her creative ways into the contest’s top prize of $5,000 and a year’s supply of tape.

“I suppose I could use it to make another sculpture,” she said Wednesday, referring to the 36 rolls of packaging tape she won, a whole case. She was more certain about the money, which will go toward her college expenses, she added.
