Brewers slam ace pitcher Chris Carpenter

Wisconsin Sports
- Brewers knock Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter and go on to win 12-5.

Even though the Milwaukee Brewers whipped St. Louis 12-5, Manny Parra may have pitched his way out of the team's rotation.

Parra was knocked out of the game after his hitters had given him an 11-run lead. Jim Edmonds led the way with four hits, including a three-run home run, and a stolen base. Edmonds had turned 40 earlier in the week. Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun had three hits apiece and Rickie Weeks led off the game with a home run. The win marked the second straight time Milwaukee has pounded Cardinal ace Chris Carpenter, one of the best pitchers in major league baseball. Carpenter gave up eight runs in a little over three innings. The Cardinals and Brewers wrap up the series in St. Louis today.
