Gopher Royce White transfers to Iowa State
Minnesota Sports- Former Gopher Royce White transfers to Iowa State after never playing a minute.
Former Minnesota Mister Basketball Royce White agreed yesterday to play college hoops at Iowa State. White led Hopkins to the 2009 Class Four-A state championship and joined the University of Minnesota men's basketball team.
But he never played for the Gophers, winding up on suspension following a run-in with the law. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft and disorderly conduct following an incident at the Mall of America. White also pled guilty to trespassing in connection with a laptop theft on the U of M campus.
White says he's learned from his mistakes, and Cyclones men's basketball coach Fred Hoiberg says they're exited to have him on the team. The N-C-double-A must clear White before he can play in the coming season with the Cyclones.
