Twins route Orioles to pull within one game of White Sox
Minnesota Sports- The Twins blow out the Orioles 10-4 to pull within one game of the first place White Sox.
Jason Kubel's grand slam was one of four Twins home runs in yesterday's 10-4 bludgeoning of the Orioles in hot and sticky Baltimore.
The victory allowed the Twins to close to within one game of first-place Chicago in the AL Central after the White Sox lost at Oakland 6-4. Kubel's second grand slam of the season in the third inning put the Twins ahead for good in their third win of the four-game series at Camden Yards.
Also going deep were Delmon Young, Jason Repko and Jim Thome, who hit the 576th homer of his career. Kevin Slowey won his ninth game of the season by allowing five hits and one run in six innings of work The Twins tonight start a three-game series at Kansas City, which has lost seven of ten games since the All-Star Break.
