PRESCOTT—Friends of Freedom Park announce the dedication of “Everts Point,” overlooking the confluence of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers.
The dedication ceremony will take place this Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center.
Everts Point will honor Evelyn Everts and the late Rolland Everts, whose love and care of the Mississippi River has been a model for generations. The Everts founded Everts Resort near Hager City.
The public is invited to the dedication ceremony, which will feature music as well as remarks by Prescott Mayor Mike Hunter, Evelyn Everts and Friends President Jim Shiely. Cake, coffee and lemonade will follow the ceremony.
The Everts Point amphitheater site is used for the center’s education programs, such as Earth Day Extravaganza and raptor releases, as well as weddings and other rental reservations.
