MINNEAPOLIS - Hutchinson native Lindsay Whalen, fresh off of signing a contract extension earlier in the week, scored a team high 21 points to lead the WNBA Minnesota Lynx to a key home victory over San Antonio 84-78.

The Lynx trailed by 15-points in the first quarter but went on a 23-to-3 run in the second quarter to grab control of the game. Whalen hit six free throws down the stretch to ice the victory.

The win places Minnesota into a three-way tie for the final two playoff spots in the Western Division with San Antonio and Los Angeles. The Lynx have three regular season games remaining on the schedule, all away from home. The first of those comes Tuesday night at Seattle, the league's best team.
