Favre retruns to Minnesota to decide on status for 2010 season
Minnesota Sports- Brett Favre is expected to announce today that he’ll return as the Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback
EDEN PRAIRIE - Brett Favre is expected to announce today that he’ll return as the Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback.
Yesterday, Viking teammates Ryan Longwell, Jared Allen, and Steve Hutchinson flew to Favre’s Mississippi home to get a take on what he plans to do. And a few hours later, the former Packers’ quarterback flew back to Minnesota and rode Longwell’s SUV to the Vikings’ complex as three Twin Cities’ TV stations showed the procession live.
Fans cheered at the gate to the Winter Park complex, and Favre was whisked to a back entrance. The Vikings say they’ll hold a news conference after practice today, and Favre could speak. There had been speculation that he would not return for his 20th NFL season due to the ankle injury he suffered in last January’s NFC title game at New Orleans. He had surgery on the ankle in the spring. It was a year ago today when Favre signed a two-year contract with the Vikings. He played in an exhibition game after just three days of practice.
