EDEN PRAIRIE - Quarterback Brett Favre is returning to the Minnesota Vikings for a 20th NFL season. The 40-year-old future Hall of Famer announced his decision to return to the Vikes for a second season at the team's training facility Wednesday.

The announcement came after he participated in a morning practice with the team. Favre flew from his Hattiesburg, Mississippi home to Minnesota Tuesday after defensive end Jared Allen, offensive guard Steve Hutchinson and kicker Ryan Longwell all made a trip to Mississippi to talk to Favre about returning.

In his lone season in Minnesota last year, Brett Favre completed 363 of 531 attempts for 4,202 yards and 33 touchdowns while being picked off seven times during the regular season.

The quarterback immediately began working with the first team in both individual and team drills. He seemed to move well and showed no noticeable limp with regard to his ankle. He joked with teammates and at one point playfully knocked a football out of one of his wide receiver's hands. Favre wore a red quarterback's jersey with his traditional No. 4 on it.
