SAN FRANCISCO - Brett Favre had four plays for the Minnesota Vikings in their 15-10 exhibition loss at San Francisco last night.
He completed a 13-yard pass to Adrian Peterson on his first play from scrimmage, but was sacked for 10 yards on the next play by linebacker Patrick Willis. The Vikings punted two plays later, and Favre’s night was over after just one series.
The 40-year-old Favre joined the Vikings last week after three of his teammates traveled to his Mississippi home to pick him up. Favre admitted that his mind was not working quickly enough on the sack – and he would hate for it to happen once the games begin to count.
Favre’s counterpart, Alex Smith, played the first half for the 49’ers. He completed 9-of-13 passes for 88 yards.
