MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota volleyball team dropped two spots in this week's national rankings despite winning all three of its games and beginning the season undefeated.
The Golden Gophers fell from No. 6 to No. 8 in the weekly coaches poll. Minnesota won the Minnesota Invite last weekend and will host another invitational this coming weekend at the Sports Pavilion. No. 20 Dayton, No. 22 Northern Iowa, and Baylor will join the Gophers in the tourney field.
Meanwhile, sophomore Tabi Love was named the Big Ten Volleyball Player of the Week, while freshman Ashley Wittman was named Big Ten Freshman Player of the Week. Love is from Dauphin, Manitoba and Wittman is from Shakopee.
