Minnesota confirms two cases of West Nile virus

Neighboring Minnesota has two confirmed human cases of West Nile Virus. And Wisconsin had not recorded any cases this year as of August 11th.
Minnesota health officials said a person in the Saint Paul area and a man in Yellow Medicine County came down with West Nile – which is spread by mosquitoes.
The Wisconsin Health Services Web site did not list any cases affecting humans, birds, or horses as of three weeks ago.
Minnesota’s Dave Neitzel says much of the high-risk season for West Nile is behind us – but there’s still a continued risk in September.
