Vikings close preseason 3-1 with win over Broncos

MINNEAPOLIS - The Vikings wrapped up exhibition play with a 31-24 win over the Broncos at the Metrodome Thursday night.

Most the starters did not play and Tavaris Jackson struggled as Minnesota's starting quarterback. Jackson completed just two-of-eight pass attempts for two yards in four series. Rookie QB Joe Webb completed five-of-nine passes for 100 yards and rushed for a game-high 48 yards. Linebacker Erin Henderson returned a fumble for a touchdown, Albert Young rushed for a two-yard score and Javon Walker caught a 63-yard TD pass from Webb. The Vikings defense forced Denver into four turnovers but allowed 437 yards. Cold Spring native Eric Decker caught five passes for 114 yards in the loss.

The Vikes' open the regular season next Thursday night against the Saints in New Orleans
